Join The Bus Stop Theatre Cooperative, We Need You!

As a community we will for the organization that will allow the Bus Stop Theatre to be the arts space we all know Halifax needs. There are two ways that you can help: advisement and becoming a member.

The actual implementation of these will be dependant on who takes out a membership and the board they elect. Once elected, the board will be responsible for ratifying the governance documents, and changing and developing them as they see fit.

Feedback and advisement about this new proposal is necessary, and your suggestions are welcome(send your input to thebusstoptheatre@gmail.com). We have tried to develop programs for the benefit of our membership and the community. We hope you are as excited as we are about the proposed advances of the BST’s activities.

The Cooperative has been set up with a annual membership, initial sales of membership will be $200.  The hope, outlined in the documents below, is that our first board will ratify by-laws that allow for a graduated ($50-500) membership structure connected to services and programs. We plan to have our first AGM to elect a board March 21st. The proposed timeline would see the customized membership, programming and services in place for Fall of 2013.

Use of the Bus Stop Theatre will not be exclusive to membership, and you or your company may choose not to join and continue using the space as you do now, however by joining together we will develop this resource to our mutual benefit through community ownership.
